Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is an integral part of The Dubai Mall’s diverse entertainment portfolio. Located strategically in the centre of the Mall, Dubai Aquarium is one of the largest indoor aquariums of its kind in the world at 51m long, x 20m wide, x 11m deep.
With the capacity to hold 10 million litres of water, Dubai Aquarium illuminates the marvels of the ocean floor and showcases one of the most diverse collections of aquatic life worldwide. Dubai Aquarium has thousands of aquatic animals, representing several hundred-marine species.
Dubai Aquarium's 270-degree acrylic walkthrough tunnel makes for incredible close-encounters with some of the most fascinating underwater animals on the planet. The tunnel is 50 metres long and 10 metres under the surface and treats visitors to an exceptional underwater experience as they come eye-to-eye with sharks, stingrays, and other aquatic animals.
Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo regularly enhances its portfolio with new animals and exhibits to add value to the visitors’ experience. A few of the most popular additions have been the ‘saw fish’, bonnethead sharks, and the macaw’s, as well as a zone showcasing the incredible world of several cephalopod species such as octopus, shrimp, lobster, and the beautiful weedy sea dragons, endemic to the seas off Australia.
The highly qualified and experienced staff have developed training and enrichment programmes for the animals and are involved in the general day-to-day care of the marine species. Every aquatic animal in Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is part of a specialist group, which has a dedicated curatorial team member to ensure continued care and well-being.

However, please note that specific exhibits do not allow flash photography due to the health and safety of the animals. These are marked throughout your journey, and we urge you to respect the same.

We offer exciting presentations throughout the day at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo. Please ask any of our friendly staff members for the presentation schedule during your visit.
Yes, visitors are welcome to capture memories of their experience through photos and videos for personal use. However, to ensure the well-being of our animals, flash photography is prohibited in certain areas, and these areas are clearly marked. We also offer a professional photography service during your visit. Please respect these restrictions to help us provide a safe and comfortable environment for all animals.
Guests can enjoy the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo for the entire day of their booked ticket during operating hours. Feel free to explore at your own pace and experience everything we have to offer.
Re-entry is not permitted, as your ticket is valid for one-time entry only. Please make sure to explore all areas during your visit.
The average time to explore Dubai Aquarium’s Aquarium Tunnel is approximately 15 to 30 minutes. The Underwater Zoo on Level 2 takes about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. If you wish to watch presentations or shows, this time may vary. The Glass Bottom Boat ride lasts around 15 to 20 minutes. We recommend booking your boat ride in advance to avoid waiting times.
At present, Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo does not provide guided tours for general public visitors without prior bookings. However, we do have Educators available throughout the journey for questions. For a more personalized experience, you can arrange a private tour with our Bookings Officer, subject to availability, and additional charges may apply.
